Focus ZTS Mach500,display blinks, cd's will not eject?
I have a 2002 Ford Focus with the Mach 500 factory sound system. The 6 cd radio display blinks and I can't eject any of the cd's that are in the radio. A grinding noise starts and then after a while "CD Error" appears. Help!
Pioneer builds these systems and has issued a service memo. Contact an aftermarket car audio dealer they should be able to refer you to someone who does repairs. The dealer will want you to replace the unit ($500+).
The mechanism upgrade with labor ran me $150.
I still have an occasional stuck CD and have determined that some brands are more prone than others.
