How can i fix my renault megane 97?

i tried to charge my car battery with some jump leads this morning and stupidly connected the leads the wrong way round. The leads started smoking so i quickly took them off and put them on the right way round. Only it was a little bit to late. So when i tried the ignition it ticked over but wouldnt start. the immoboliser wasnt working or the central locking. Could somebody please tell me what has happened and how to fix the problem
