Just had same problem, wasadvised to ignore scraping noise as it would reduce, the "wire" will eventually disintegrate, check bottom outlet every couple of washes and removes any pieces that pass through.
We tried it, now only a very faint noise when moving drum by hand, nothing during a wash. Bolting stable door, wife put bras in pillow case and will continue to do so.
