Mend Mercedes-Benz 308 Diesel Starting Problem Heater Plugs

Sprinter starting problem?

1996 308 Sprinter. Just replaced heater plugs and re-made earth to Heater Plug Relay as no pre-heat working. Heat plug system now functional but van starts fine then stops after few seconds. Had been ok before but has stood couple of months. Seems like fuel starvation? Any common probs this way suggestions? Poor old thing!

Looks like I've got the vac pipes connected wrong. Switched and now runs ok but I still have a problem that it remains on fast idle. Anyone out there got a picture of what should be where vacuum pipe wise on a 308D?
