How can I fix my passenger electric car seat on my 1996 Toyota Landcruiser?

I have the same issue in my passenger 2003 Camry. I moved the seat all the way forward once, and now it won't go back. The motor runs and seems to turn this rod, but the adjacent threaded rods that turn to move the seat backward/fwd, doesn't move. I guess the gear is stripped or somehow unmeshed itself. I'm thinking I'll need to pull out the seat to get into this to look further which is a royal pain in the a$$.
