Mend Hotpoint DWF30S/29 Dishwasher Circuit Board No Power

Faulty Hoptpoint Dishwasher - no lights on?

My dishwasher has suddenly stopped working. When I switch the "on" button, no lights come on and nothing happens at all. i've checked the obvious, like the plug and socket, but to no avail.

Does this sound like something serious like a circuit board? Or maybe an innocent switch?
Its a hotpoint aquarias dwf30s/29.
any help would be much appreciated.
