Mend Ford Mustang GT Keep Car Running

keep my car running?

My 2001 mustang Gt has been sitting for a couple of years with battery disconnected . Went to go start it and it wouldn't start, then put starter fluid in it ,ran for a while then wouldn't idle. When hot would not restart.
