Why Does My Veritas R8 alarm keeps going off for no reason. ?

oh and by the way something must be disrupting the alarm because i cant see two zones being triggerd like that unless either pirs are faulty or someone could be triggering if there are security guards then try not to face the pir's looking out of e.g a door window when my veritas 8c was first fitted it did the same and i programmed it programmed zones terminals could be faulty check the fuse in the panel its not faulty or dodgy if you dont have a manual give mee your e-mail address and i can send you 1 or if you have 1 in the book it will say programming the system start from scratch your alarm code may change back to factory settings so to change code back 4321 prog 60 **** your code get back to me if that helps

if the office is very spacious then yes its fine for 2 pir's but you really should have magnetic door contacts so the alarm unsets properly so zone 1 door contacts zone 2 pir and if you need another pir zone 3 if zone 1 and 2 are entry exit put into your code 1234 prog 12 then the number will say 6 change it to 3 on the panel and that sensor is now guard magnetic door contacts are only about 99p and by the way so you have an external sounder ??

HI Acorn,
There are 2 sensors , zone one and zone 2, both are entry exit zones, it is a led keypad not an lcd keypad. there is an auto dialer and an exrtra internal sounder (sound bomb) there are no door contacts, the PIRs are Reflex brand and the external SAB is infinate brand. i do not know how to access the log on this system both zones are lights are flashing before reset. it goes off at simalar times of the day. it is in an office of a fish merchants. there are computers, fax machines telephones etc.

It's not going off for no reason, it's just that you do not know how to interpret the information that the control panel is giving.

More information is needed, what circuit/zone number is showing, what if any lights are showing, if you can't remember have you looked at the log, the information is there.

Come back with more information, type of detectors, how many if more than one on each circuit, type of building, anything left switched on, does it always happen at the same time, etc etc etc? I could go on.
