How can I clean the top rotor arm in my AEG FAVORITE 86050 VI dishwasher?

For some time, my AEG FAVORIT 86050 VI machine has not been washing well and I can see that many holes are blocked in the top rotor arm. They seem to be clogged with a hard scally substance and the arm is no longer balanced as it hangs down at one end. I have removed the mechanism from the top basket but how can one clean out the 'rubbish' from inside the arm. How does one remove the arm from the water feed tube?
