where is the thermostat in a ford ka 2004. ?

ford ka 2004 has been losing water. the cylinder head gasket has been checked and is ok. all hose pipes are ok as well.There is no water or obvious leaks under the car but when heater is on blowing on cold,hot air is coming through heating up the car rather quickly.
