could be the plastic door handle has broken trying to open the metal latch. you can get the top off , two screws at the back, plug out! you can lever the the little latch with a stubby s crewdriver.

these machines do not have filters as such, they have a sump trap in the rubber hose coming from the underside of the tub and leading to the pump at the rear of the machine.

machine filter may be partly blocked,or check the pressure chamber is not blocked this fools machine into thinking it still contains water.
