my sky plus box won't record a channel I'm not watching?

first you need it to be hooked up to a phone line or your sky bband box if its hooked up to then net for intreractive thats ok aswell Press Services, then ,7 then 0,1 and select then setup then scroll down to single feed mode make shore its set to off if not, set it to off you sky box will update for few mins and then you will get amber light turn sky box back on and check signal and heypresto you will have both input one and input two signal bars

If the box is showing one lnb with no signal and the box is over a year old chances are that the power supply is starting to go faulty and is not able to power the two lnb's. This is a common problem. Try satcure for parts.

ok try this. unplug the power from the back of the box. press and hold the left and right buttons on the front of the box (either side of the select button). Insert power lead back into box. Make sure you are pressing nice and hard on the buttons and wait for up to a minute and a half. the ring of LED's in the centre of the box should light up. when it does release the other two buttons and press the middle (select) button. the ring of LED's will now rotate anti-clockwise. when this has finished unplug the lead from the back of the box again. press and hold the backup button and reinsert the power lead. Keep holding the button until 3 lights light up on the front of the box remote, message and online. if you have your tv on it should say "updating system software, do not unplug from power or dish supply" (or words to that effect!) leave it and have a cuppa for 10 mins or so. when the lights go out and the message goes off the screen leave the box for a further 2mins and then power on. Press Services, then number 4 for system settings, then one after the other 0,1 and select for installer menu then 6 for new installation. let it find the channels and if you have it connected to a telephone line press select to do a call back. all thats left to do is to try and record! Sorry its so long but thats what you need to do if this does not work your hdd is prob fried!
