multiple popups at instal: installer error 2718?

At startup, my laptop, for several months now, gets 7-10 popups "installer error 2718" at every startup. Tried numerous chat-room fixes; don't work. LOTS of companies want LOTS of money to fix problem. Probably something simple; what do I do to stop it?
