nail polish remover spilt on brown leather couch?

stain the leather now has light patch on it

the solvent has removed the top colour sealant, and the colour itself.this can be easily rectified by a professional leather technician by removing the solvent soaked into the hide, matching the original colour and re sealing the hide.
do not attempt to re colour with felt pen, shoe polish or paint as you will worsen the issue, making the repair longer and possibly more expensive.
search for leather repair services, the repair can be done in yopur home without taking the item away.

The strong chemical of the nail polish remover is probably acetone - or something very similar. All you can do is to disguise the light patch. If it were my couch I would use a felt tip pen - something that soaks into the leather rather than lays on the surface. Either that or cover it up with a "throw".

There's a tendency in England for the "gentry" to allow their furniture to decay, wear and age and never to replace it - your "patch" will give you an air of class - just leave it as it is and show the world that you just don't care about such small matters... I can hear Aunt Violet even now... "Oh darling, only the little people worry about stains on sofas."
