how do i get a drive belt to rear wheels on a mtd 1991 lawn tractor?

can' t get rear drive belt on mtd 1991 single cylinder lawn tractor , no enough slack. belt is same belt that was on,only new,and belt listed in belt guide

You are gona need to relieve tension on belt idler pulley so you can route the new belt ....have someone push in on clutch pedal while you route belt
