Mend Polti Vaporella Forever 100 Steam Heating

My Polti is generating too much steam?

My Polti Vaporella Forever 100 is heating up and producing too much steam. When I call for steam from the iron it seems fine. When I stop the steam from the iron, the generator gushes steam from the exhaust valve[?]. Can anyone help please???
