How can I fix my Diplomat ADP8352?

I have a Diplomat ADP8352 dishwasher which worked ok for 3 years. Recently stop working as follows: first the machine pumps the water and then makes an attempt to start the engine but does not commences, at this point makes a funny noise like keep trying to start but never commences. The first few times we tried after 10 minutes and it worked but afterwards never worked again and kept making the same noise. Any help please???
