oil levels for fordson power major 1959?

i have recently brought a power major and it has been leaking oil from both crank seals the dip stick that was in it i don't think was the correct one as the full level is about 2 inches from the top and it was snapped off just above the collar so it has no handle i have just got enother stick from a scraped power major and the full level is about 5 inches from the top if this is correct there must be pints too much oil in it. anyone know how much it should hold
