how can I get hot water from my potterton lynx EP 4000?

I cannot get hot water from my potterton boiler, the gas supply is ok and when I turn the hot water tabs on the boiler is working and the light is green indicating '' demand''.

There is a remote on the side which I don't know how to operate I have just moved into the property, plesae can you help. There boiler is a potterton lynx EP 4000.

The potterton Lynx is a combination boiler, Hot water work on demand ie Turn a tap on and boiler fires in HW mode the EP4000 has nothing to do with it! If you are getting a demand light and no more there is a fault with the ignition PCB or/and the main mother board.
