Mend Ryobi PBC 3046YE Replace Drive Stripped

ryobi PBC 3046YE expand it motor unit - replace drive shaft?

I have stripped the splines on my motor - I think - and the drive shaft just spins round. I have dismantled the machine as far as I can but I can't get the pull cord assembly off to get into the guts of the machine. Does anyone have any ideas please?
