Mend Hotpoint WF321P New Element Machine

how do I connect the earth to a new element for hotpoint washing machine ?

I have just changed the element on my Hotpoint WF321P washing machine and there is no connection to attach the earth to. I have the old element which I took the earth off but the new one definately doesn't have anywhere to fit it to. Can anyone help. The only thing I can think to do is solder the old connection onto the new element.
