Mend Tefal Delfina Cover Switch Base

Tefal Delfina Disassembly?

I am trying to remove the handle cover to troubleshoot the on-off switch. I have got the base undone but cannot release the top. There are two holes each side of the handle which may be access to the catch release. Can anyone please advise how to procede?

Certainly too late for you Ian but may help someone else. You're on the right track with the side slots. Once the bottom of the back is loosened use a small screwdriver to lever the visible plastic tab away from the kettle body while pulling the cover downwards. Can get away with doing one side at a time and it takes a bit of pressure.
