Mend Classic 3.5 Magneto Flywheel Ignition

Magneto reassembly, Classic 3.5?

Hi, can anyone advise please, should the magneto be touching the flywheel or should there be clearance between it and the magnets. Many thanks,.

The clearance between the ignition coil and the flywheel needs to be about the same as a couple of sheets of paper. They musn't touch.
