Mend Ford Fiesta Flasher Unit Indicators

how can i fix my indicators,ford,fiesta, R reg?

my wife has a ford fiesta 1.25 1997. Two weeks ago when using the indicator stalk, the indicators started cutting out? so i thought it would be just a simple thing changing the flasher unit! looked in the drivers manual, no reference or guidance of any flasher unit for indicators, just fuses and relays! I took out the said fuses inspected and cleaned then replaced. But the problem is still there, is there a flasher unit or is it a relay, or could it be the indicator stalk (lever) please help if you can and have any information, thank you for your input it is much appreciated, and hopefully i will be able to return the same one day with a question all you have and i might have the answer to. thanx once again

the indicator/wiper stalk removal has been described. i wanted to replace the flasher unit and could not find it.
the flasher unit is a square peice immediately under the indicator stick on the left of the steering. it took me hours to find where the flasher unit was even on the internet. push back a clip at the back and slide the square unit downwards. job done.

well after no answer became available, done a bit of investigating myself and found the indicator flasher unit, on left-hand side of steering column just beneath the indicator lever

flasher unit is plugged into back of indicator switch,remove steering top cowl for access to it.
