Hotpoint wd64 - drum not spinning during any program/cycle help pls?

Any ideas if you can fix a Hotpoint WD64 washer/dryer so the drum will spin yourself? Currently will not spin on any program/cycle. Sounds like it wants to - but that doesn't really help:( Could really do with fixing this myself as family back from hols tomorrow and will have loads that can't wait for an engineer.
