The chuck on my makita 6280D is jammed open and there is no way I can turn it to insert a drill bit. I have tried gripping the end in a vice and applying small amounts of anti-clockwise power but nothing. Any suggestions or is it a new chuck?
hi mike look into chuck and see the phillips head screw well i reckon it has come out so try tightening same using phillips sdriver screw tightens by turning left
this should give you enough room to allow the chuck teeth to retract
