Where does the clear small hose hook to?

A small clear hose coming off a small box on the side of the tub. Where does the other end suppose to hook up to?

It probably goes to the pressure sensing vessel....this senses the pressure, and hence the water level, inside the drum. The pressure vessel is a sort of doughnut shape device, screwed to the washer casing.
