Mend Renault Megane Headlight Side Working

front headlight, near side not working?

just found a problem with my megane front headlight not working on near side, bulb is ok but a humming noise is cumming from a small black plastic box just off to the side of the unit, wot is it and how much should i pay for a new one, if this is the fault

Do you have gas discharge high intestity bulbs? as it sounds like it might be the high voltage ballast unit making the noise, these will be v expensive from the dealers, try Eurocarparts.com or Gsfcarparts.com as either will be a lot cheaper!!!
