Mend Moffat Door Replace Removed

How to reinstall the door on Moffat oven/range?

While trying to replace the bake-heating element of my Moffat stove/range, I removed the oven door. Now I am unable to reinstall it. The instructions in the User's Manual don't work. I wonder if the locking mechanism consisting of two flanges is broken.
