sovereign/ briggs &stratton. 10d902 fault?

my10d902 engine on my sovereign mower gets hot and throws out smoke and oil through the exhaust, canyou give me any answers, filter and spark plug new etc.

Its a good idea to take off the recoil start housing and see if there is a build up of grass around the cylinder fins, which would prevent proper cooling. At the same time, see that the flywheel brake is actually releasing. Don't overfill with engine oil, and also check that the cutting gear is free so that the engine isn't labouring.
