APM 8702 metalic grinding noise ?

I have an APM8702 washer dryer, it has started to make a metallic grinding noise. This only seems to happen when the machine is pumping out water. I have checked & cleaned the filter.(there was a small metallic object in there). The drum spins normally & there does not seem to any resistance when I spin it by hand. I think there may be a problem with the pump either it is knackered or something is stuck in there (I have a 2 year old son who loves to hide things in the machine). I would appreciate any input before I go playing about with it. Cheers
