Mend Ideal Standard Cistern Repair Mechanism

How do I fix my ideal standard cistern?

The toilet is filling up normally, but then there is a constant slow trickle into the pan, it appears that the filling mechanisms whatever that bit is is not switching off???

I've tried altering the ball but it makes no difference
