sound problem from dvd recorder?

I have a goodmans gdvd300r dvd recorder and the sound is distorded when watching tv channels and also when playing a dvd.It was working before christmas.Anybody who can help me fix ths problem.

I had the same problem. It was caused by overheating in the power supply module. Three electrolytic capacitors had failed: C17, C18 and C19 (1000uF, 1200uF and 1000uF 16V) all need to be 105C types. Works OK now, but will probably fail again due to high temerature inside unit!
