Hi Lee, I assume it's the top bolt/nut your struggling with? I haven't worked on the Zip 50 but most of the single shock 50's are assembled nearly the same. you're going to have to remove the left rear side panel obscuring the top of the shock.
Once that's off you may find that the fuel tank is in the way. if that needs to be completely removed then you will have to drain the tank & take the tubes off it. The removal & installation of the new shock are straightforward enough.
As i advise anyone with limited mechanical knowledge, get a manual, all the info is there & pix to guide you through the job.
