The display shows "PROTECT" when first switched on. Info suggests short-circuit on speaker system. I have disconected all cables at the back but the display is the same. The power to all other components is automaticaly disconected. Any suggestions?

Yeah mines done the same, looks like the ICT chip is faulty, assuming you've tried it without the speakers connected to illiminate a speaker fault, i took mine to a repair shop £24 new chip fitted, back in use. Sorted.
