What's wrong with my Zanussi FLS 1183W washing machine?

Hi. My Zanussi FLS 1183W washing machine started off by making loud metallic scraping sounds when the drum spins round, but now it has become a clunking noise. What might be wrong with it? Will it be costly to fix?

have you left something in the pockets of your washing? A nail or screw can fit through the holes in the revolving drum and scrape the outer drum on rotation. This has happened to me on more than one occaision.
