Hi Gary,
Had the same thing on my 2ltr voyager Le 1997.
Changed the pump after it gives up the ghost at about 110K(cannot re-con them it seems pay £400 from dealer plus the fluid, make sure its the right colour thats installed in the system already red or yellow,do not mix them).Stops working again 2 days later.
When the pump fails it creates swarf in the system from the worn out splines failing in the original pump .
There is a FILTER MESH in the reservoir box that collects any
contaminants, this starts blocking up after a serious failure preventing a flow of fluid through the box.(YES the fluid does flow through the box!!something I did not realise)
IF you stir inside the reservoir box lightly across the filter mesh while the engines running you may find that the steering bursts back to life for a while, then you know you are on the right track.
Just take off the box by releasing the flow and return pipes on the left-hand side and the two bolts securing it to the engine at the back and flush it out really well with white spirit or something similar.
I half filled mine with fast acting cleaning solvent and shook the life out of it then released the fluid out as quickly as possible.did this five times.
Been running OK now.

Have you rechecked the level of the fluid? You might have a leak, and the pump needn't have been changed.
