My Hoover nextra fridge/freezer - the freezer part has stopped working. ?

hi i have a hoover nextra hca36ft fridge freezer (with drinks dispenser) have the same trouble. meant to be frost free yet often has serious ice build up at back. hasnt worked properly since bout 6months old but was out of warrenty as had it in storage whilst house was being built. if we turn it off for few hours it will freeze for a few weeks but contents is more often than not barely frozen. have u had any joy with yours? what was wrong? how much to fix? or did u just scrap it? many thanks
