my fiat stilo display is intermittantly re setting itself, ?

I have an 2004 stilo and the dashboard display has died on me!!! it was resetting itself intermittantly but has now just cut out totally, any ideas please folks, i know a new one will cost me a small mortgage so any help wouuld be gratefully appreciated!
