Mend Proline TVD31400 Moment Turning Set

how do i get my proline tvd screen back on ????

i have a proline tvd31400.at the moment when turning it on from standby the screen does not come on.at the bottom of the set on the same row as the function buttons,next to the timer there is a "screen off" dot which is lit.i have tried all the buttons on the set and control but can not get the screen to work. how can i get the screen viewable again.
