repair or replace remote control?

I have two Readers (make) five blade( three mode) and three bulb fittings which are operated by remote control. Whilst I can operate the lights by wall socket I am unable to operate the fan without the remote control. The remotes has failed on both of them now, I have been using one remote for both fittings. Readers sent me one to try as they had changed their model. It did not work. I now need help to either repair or replace with a one for all, which that company cannot help me with. I was advised to this site by Maplins.in Newport Isle of Wight. Is there a repair section available on your site please? I am 78 and not very technical!
