Mend Laguna Open Bonnet

Cant open my 1998 Laguna bonnet!!!?

The driver's side catch refuses to release when I pull the bonnet release. How can I get at the catch to release the bonnet to repair the problem catch/cable??? Help!! My MOT is due on the 31st Jan 2006

This did work. I have a Laguna (UK X plate) with a front spoiler, removing the spoiler is easier than you think, some bolt head screws underneath and two near the weels. Pulling the cable is how I did it, but when you have the boot open you realise how easy it should have been. Persistance is the answer, it took me some time.
The drivers side (UK CAR) cable comes from the passengers side, the fault was the plasic holding the cable was broken.

Hope this helps someone!

Thanks for that but It's a little more complicated thab that! The driver's side catch WILL NOT RELEASE! - A local Renault dealer has said they need to remove parts of the air-conditioning system to access the bonnet underside. I need to get at the faulty catch/cable without pulling the front end off my car! Come on folks - rise to the challenge please

if u go to the front of th car and find where the lever is that the cabile gose to then u can open it with your hand .just push or pullor or move it side ways so it relese from the body of the car then just pull bonnit up then it will open .try pulling the cabile from under the if it has not come off the lever at the boonit end
