Mend Briggs & Stratton 15.5 Engine Carburetor Lawn Mower

15.5 briggs throttle will not work?

Replaced carb, hooked up cables and the engine only idles fast and does not respond to throttle. What is the problem?

The most likely thing is that you have not connected the link from the govenor arm to the carb throttle plate. Fortunately, it's springloaded closed - otherwise you would have had a runaway engine.
