Toyota RAV4 5th gear slips?

What do you mean bt 'slips' ?
Does the gear lever fall out of gear or do you find that the engine speed increases unproportionatley with the speed that the car is travelling ?
If it's the latter - you will probably find that one of more components of the clutch assembly is suffering from wear. The only option would be to have a new clutch fitted.

Hi. This is a common problem. If you go to Toyota Owners Club (.com) forums and then onto the Rav4 forum you will get plenty of advice. Post your question on there and then i will be able to send you a message. i used to have a Rav4 and had the same problem, I bought the parts to fix it, but as I ended up getting rid of the Rav i still have the parts available and am trying to sell them, so once you have got some advice will be able to let you have them if you need them and it will cut the costs of the fix for you!!
