many a sprinter i have attended that will not start due to a filter replacement is purely down to not filling the filter to the brim, and i mean the brim, small funnel, fill with diesel into the return and the centre hole, scavange feed, will overflow, thus minimising the air to the scavange, and minimising air going from the high pressure pump to the common rail. If the common rail detects air, it detects a low bar output and closes the pressure regulator, hence a non start. Hope this helps you. williamsdiesels.com
