How can i fix my samsung p1000 camera?

I have recently bought a samsung p1000 digital camera. The lens is stuck open and when i turn it on or off it makes a noise like its trying to wind it in and out but it doesnt.

how do you strip it down

It is usually possible to strip down the lens unit and rebuild it. There are 3 tiny guides that slide the lens in and out. When the lens gets knocked they come out of the guides and jam the lens. You may be lucky that a gentle twist of the lens will re engage the guides but more often than not the lens needs stripping down
