Qualcast 35 s no spark at the plug ?

I have just had the same problem and after spending several hours with no resolution was about to take it to the dump.
Then I noticed a very small screw had fallen out of the electric stop allowing the stop to fall permanantly giving an earth to the spark.
I fitted a new small screw with a small nut attached to the back so this is less likly to happen again. It then started up first pull just saved myself £350. Just maybe you have the same problem!

If you still have no spark, you have a dead coil pack. These are a weak point, and the only cure is replacement at about £50. This consignes more of these mowers to the scrap than any other fault.

Try the same test without the spark plug - see if a spark will jump a gap between the HT lead and engine. If still no joy, disconnect the cut out wire that is connected to the throttle linkage at the carburettor.
