Had a similar problem with a laptop many months back. I do PC repairs but don't go down to components and soldering as I'm no electrical engineer. Seemed a shame to waste my lappy so I took it to my local TV repairman who fixed it up with a bit of solder (I let him diagnose what to do with it and that was his solution).
Still working fine now - cost £15. :-)
Wiggling, heat and play are not good and may result in arcing which can do untold damage and may even be a danger to you too - get this sorted soon as you can!
