packard bell (slimview 517)tft, works fine but is very faint.
Can just about see dipslay. wont respond to any setting changes ie brightness/contrast etc.

This little app works quite well for getting past monitor and graphics cards settings limitations.

it sounds like yourback light is going bad
its hard to replace so try a specialist in laptop repair
and see if they can help
