Mend Bernina 730 Sewing Machine Order

BERNINA 730 RECORD?

Bernina Record 730 Record sewing machine sticking intermittently. Appears in very good order, recently oiled and cleaned however when hand winding it turns well for several turns and then goes very tight to turn then after a few stiff turns it frees up again and turns easily for several times and then stiffens up again and so on. Can you help?

Thanks Ken for the response. I had cleaned and oiled etc and removed all fluff and threads however I have now decided that I have a broken stitch selector cam (one of the teeth appears to be broken.) If I get the spare part how simple an operation is it to change it without upsetting all the stitch settings? I guess I need professional help ?

Hello Ann,
It may something as simple as a small piece of thread jammed in the raceway itself, take out the bobbin case and the raceway and check .
